New South Florida Aldi Stores Opening Soon!

Aldi is expanding in South Florida, and by the end of the year we will have eight Aldi stores in South Florida. So far no specific opening dates have been released, but we can expect the new stores to open by late November, early December.

Aldi South Florida Produce Prices Starting Wednesday June 15

Today is the start of the new produce prices at Aldi in South Florida, and there is a little bit of everything. I'm a little disappointed that there are no fruits among the sales this week, but hopefully Aldi will still have a great price on watermelon.






Last time I bought green peppers at Aldi, I was very surprised to see how long they stayed fresh. I always make sure to buy plenty, and then I cut them up and freeze them for stews and pizza toppings.

Aldi South Florida Produce Prices Starting Wednesday June 8th

My kids are thrilled....two more days left of school. Tomorrow is their last day, and they surely cannot wait. I am counting on Aldi to get me through the summer with some fabulous fruit prices, as my eight year old can go through our fruit bowl in a two days.

On Sunday I predicted the following South Florida produce prices: I'm predicting that we will get: Watermelon $2.99, Strawberries $1.49, Red grapes 2 lbs $1.98, Blueberries 10 oz $1.69

I am excited to see that I got the grapes right, and was close on all the other fruits. Aldi just made the deals even better, and our watermelon price in South Florida is definitely the best price I have seen. I think I might pick up two. We have been eating Aldi's watermelon for the past two month or so, and we have not been disappointed even once. 

I always let the watermelon sit 3 - 7 days on the counter before I start cutting, because this means that we get the sweetest, best tasting watermelon possible. When my dad was here, he even declared that we had much better tasting watermelons than in Europe. 

I start out cutting half of it up into small squares, and put it in the freezer. This way it is easy for everyone to grab some whenever they are hungry. Less trouble for them means that the watermelon is gone in no time. We also like to take the cut watermelon with us, when we go to the park, my son loves to bring it to school, and my husband likes to bring the cut watermelon with him, when he is working.

Aldi South Florida Produce Prices Starting Wednesday June 1st

Happy June 1st Aldi Shoppers, can you believe it is already June? I am more than ready for the summer vacation, but I am not so ready for the scorching heat. Unfortunately there are no cheap blueberries for us here in South Florida, but the strawberries are still at a good price. I personally do not understand why we got bananas instead of blueberries, as I don't see the need for the banana price hike to be advertised...I would much rather have a real deal instead.

Aldi South Florida Produce Prices Starting Wednesday May 18

I am way behind on posting this week, and I probably will continue to be until next week. My dad is visiting from Europe, which means the kids and I are having a lot of fun, but our schedule is also upside down.

Even though we have visitors, Wednesday morning is still all about Aldi, and I am excited to see tomatoes on sale this week. For the past two months, my cherry tomato plants have been providing plenty of tomatoes, but they are beginning to succumb to the extreme South Florida heat, and my once abundant daily harvest is no more. I still have more tomato plants, but they are not ready for harvest yet, and I wonder whether they can handle the heat. On a positive note, we have gotten the first ripe mangoes from our fabulous mango tree, and it looks like this year will be a good mango year. The mangoes are early, but so is everything else, as it has been a very hot spring in South Florida.

This week you can definitely make a very frugal salad with the sale produce at Aldi.

Wow, what a price decrease on Aldi cucumbers. In South Florida they went from $0.89 to $0.59 and this week they are on sale for $0.29. I will definitely be picking up a bunch.

Aldi South Florida Produce Prices Starting Wednesday May 4th

I was hoping Aldi would have peppers and potoates on sale this week, and at this price I will definitely throw in a bag or two of Vidalia onions as well.

I hope to be able to make it to Aldi today, but I have a sick little one, and it all depends on what the doctor says this morning. It feels like my kids have been constantly sick this spring, and when they finally get over something, one of them drags something else home from school.

Aldi Price Comparison List Between Aldi, Target, Publix. Winn-Dixie & Walmart - May

With the different ad schedules around Easter, I messed up my regular update of the  price comparison list, but I am finally back on track. I finally made my way through Winn-Dixie to get Winn-Dixie's prices added to the grocery price list. The prices keep on going up and up and up...., and a gallon of milk is now $2.09 at Aldi in South Florida, but but but at Publix it is $3.75, at Target it is $3.34 and at Winn-Dixie it is $3.45.
