I love sharing simple aldi recipes with all of you, but today's simple Aldi recipe, cannot be made solely by the use of Aldi ingredients. However, my Danish aebleskiver recipe surely is made a lot cheaper by using the majority of the baking ingredients from Aldi. My kids love it when I drag out the old aebleskiver pan, which is something that only happens on very special occasions, or if I find a great price on buttermilk.
Aldi does not have buttermilk, at least my South Florida Aldi does not, and the price is usually more than $2 for a quart a my local Publix store, so it is not something we have in our fridge very often. I recently discovered that by combining coupons with a sale, I could get a quart of buttermilk for $0.50, and little things like that will bring lots of excitement in my house.
The buttermilk sat in the back of my fridge for a while, before I finally got the aebleskiver pan out, and when I did my boys were eager to help out.
