Aldi Wine - Villa Malizia Pinot Grigio Review - Award Winning Aldi Wine As Low As $2.69!

Aldi wine
Last weekend I put together a holiday feast thanks to a blogging promotion at my blog Frugality Is Free, and I was amazed to see how Aldi's prices on luxurious holiday items such as Aldi cheese, Aldi wine and Aldi chocolate.

Have you ever tried the award winning Aldi wines?

I was very impressed with the great-tasting Aldi wines, and the prices were incredible.
  • Landshut Riesling $4.99
  • Villa Malizia Pinot Grigio $4.99
  • Gonfalone Chianti $5.99
  • Walker Napa Valley Red Wine $7.99
Villa Malizia Pino Grigio from Aldi

The Villa Malizia Pinot Grigio
My favorite of all of these wines is the Villa Malizia Pinot Grigio, because although I rarely drink wines this wine I actually liked. It had no aftertaste, it was dry and mild in flavor, and it worked very well with the holiday cheese table. This is actually one of my favorite wines ever, and if this wine can win me over, it definitely says something because few wines can.

The Villa Malizia Pinot Grigio received the Best Buy/World Championships Award Silver Medal with 86 points at the 2011 World Wine Challenges.

While I was at the store picking up the above wines, another Aldi customer recommended the Chata Moscato from South Africa, which only costs $2.69! She picked up several bottles of it, and she said that it had not been in stock the last time she was there, so it certainly must be a very popular wine.

Many of the Aldi wines have received silver medals at the Beverage Testing Institute 2011 World Wine Challenges.

Other great Aldi wine prices:
Winking Owl Chardonnay $3.39
Winking Owl Merlot $3.39
Winking Owl Cabernet Sauvignon $3.39
Winking Owl White Zinfandel $3.39
Chata Moscato $2.69

Which is your favorite Aldi wine?

  2. I did a post yesterday (it still has not showing) but I wanted to tell you that when I wrote the post I did not realize that I had a bottle of Winking Owl Cabernet Sauvignon in my cabinet. I was making the Burgundy mushrooms from the Pioneer Woman web site and this is the wine I used. I did not taste the wine before I used it but, if the wine is delicious as the mushrooms were it sure is a keeper

  3. June, I am happy to hear that you liked the Winking Owl Carbernet. For that price you would almost think something would be wrong with it. I am sure other Aldi lovers will appreciate this tip.

    Happy Holidays!
