Cheap Potatoes at Aldi - Link Up At The Aldi Savings Linky

I had to get the cheap red potatoes at Aldi this week, because I have been waiting for a reasonable price on potatoes all summer.

So, when I was headed for Target anyway, I made sure to make a stop at Aldi too. At Target I discovered that a lot of items had gone to 75 percent off Target clearance, including pools, pool toys, fitness gear, gardening products, bras, clothing and more, and before I made my way to Aldi I ended up filling my cart with Target clearance products.

An overloaded stroller and 10 lbs potatoes in the backpack
Now, normally that would not have been a problem, as my husband usually picks us up at Aldi. But, but, but... today was different, and he had to go north for work, so I was on my own. I really tried to limit myself at Target, as I knew I had to get on the bus, but I also knew that I had to get the potatoes and some other produce at Aldi.

It was quite a sight, but with the help from a nice gentleman and a great bus driver, I made it both on and off the bus...with a sleeping toddler.I even made it back in time to pick up my two oldest sons from school, and I was able to disguise their Christmas gifts...to their disappointment.

My Aldi Shopping Trip:
2.52 lbs of bananas @ $0.44/lb = $1.11
Salsa $1.79
Aldi Chocolate Spread $1.99
Tomatoes $1.69
Cucumber $0.50
Colored Peppers 2 pack $1.19
2 x 5 lb Red Potatoes @ $1.79 each = $3.58
Broccoli 2 pack $0.99

Total out of pocket $12.84
Total saved $9

Savings are calculated compared to the lowest price at my regular grocery stores. Take a look at the Aldi price list and price comparison list with Publix, Target, Winn-Dixie and Walmart.

I would love to hear how you did on your grocery shopping this week.
