  1. I live in South Florida and just recently discovered Aldi.

Bought coffee there yesterday (3/22) for under $5.00 (I think it was $4.93 but I can't find my receipt to be sure 34.5 oz ) Coffee has been very expensive...even with coupons so I thought it was a good deal

Milk was only $1.99 a gal. Publix is $3.69. Eggs were $1.00 a dozen

I was a day too early for the special on the pineapple. I bought one, but it was much more expensive.

Does anyone have an opinion of their ground beef?

And finally, should I not be making a post like this, is this just for produce specials?

  2. Anon, I just really started checking into Aldi recently, too. I am hoping to grab one of the Pineapples today, not sure what our price is here. I haven't tried their ground beef, would be interested in hear what others have to say about their meat.

And I think it is fine to ask your questions here.

Does anyone know if it is possible to get a notification if new comments are posted? I clicked on subscribe to comments but I did not get a notification when Cheryl posted

The pinapples yesterday were a good size, good value for the money

  5. June, you can ask all the questions you need to. I see you posted as anonymous, and I want to let you know that you can always send me an email at smartmomj at gmail dot com as well, if you have any questions you would like a quick response to.

I have been out shopping all day, and I just came back from aldi, so it is good to see that Cheryl could help out a bit. (THANK YOU Cheryl!)

As for the meat, the price is usually a bit high, but I usually get the chicken at $1.29/lb for Chicken thighs and chicken drumstick.

The ground beef is cheaper if you buy the large pack, but if you buy the smaller packs it is usually just as cheap at Publix or Target, when they have a sale. My family has tried the ground beef, and we do not have any complaints.

  6. I liked their ground beef too. I think the prices are high on meats, but i often luck out and find meat markdowns and i grab them when I do. I absolutely loved their thin cut pork chops, too.

  7. I have noticed the markdown on pork sometimes Amanda, I have never seen one on the chicken though. My husband has been in a no pork eating phase for a year or so, so I will not be buying any pork unless we have visitors:) When we do, I will make sure to have them try the cut pork chops.
