Aldi Pineapple - Aldi Price $1.69

This particular Aldi pinapple, which I picked up at my local South Florida Aldi store is from Costa Rice, and it is a Rosemont Farms pineapple.

I have purchased several pineapples from Aldi, and I have yet to be disappointed. However, choosing a pineapple is key when finding the best pineapple.

Tips On How To Choose A Pineapple
1) Smell - One of the best ways to judge a pineapple for its ripeness is by smelling it. A ripe pineapple has a sweet smell which could be very strong

2) Look for a dark brown color, and make sure the leaves have a very dark green color. A ripe pineapple will be brown with very little green color visible on the hard surface of the skin. You need to look between the gaps of the thorns to judge.

  1. I can't see a pineapple without thinking about your garden. And I just had to tell you that while I was at jury duty my daughters went to check out Aldi's -- you have us interested. They picked up a couple of things and did some price checking of their own. (They had to drive me and since it is a 30 minute drive they ran errands while in town).

  2. I saw pineapples when I was @ Aldis the other day and wonder if they were good. Maybe I'll have to get one next time I'm there.

  3. Yes the pineapples are great at Aldi's. I use my nose too to figure out if they are good. Here in Atlanta, the pineapples are usually Dole Gold but from what I can gather, they are a bit smaller than the grocery stores and that's why they are a good price, I am thinking.....
