Aldi Shopping Tips: Aldi Meat Markdowns Make Aldi Meat Prices Affordable

The meat prices at Aldi are mostly a bit high, but that does not mean you cannot find a great meat deal at Aldi. In fact, you might very well find a great meat deal at Aldi,as long as you know what you are looking for. You need to look for the Aldi meat markdowns stickers...

June12345 asked where to find the markdown stickers for the ham at Aldi, and I thought it was such a good question that I decided to answer it right here.
A couple of weeks ago, I finally found one of the famous markdown stickers that Amanda at Saving Myself Silly always talks about.

It was a huge package of 5.46 ground beef. The original price was $11.96 - $4 discount = $7.96 or $1.45/lb, which is much better than the original $2.19/lb. The actual discount is taken off the original price at the cash register.

Just recently Barb, another Aldi Spot visitor found $5 stickers of the spiral ham.

"My Aldi had the spiral hams for $1.49/lb and then $5 off at register. It ended up making my ham less than $1 per pound. I've had them in the past and they are delicious. I don't know how I could beat this price on that type ham."

The meat mark down stickers looks like the one on the picture below.

However, I have also seen hand written yellow signs by the ham freezer, so it is all about keeping your eyes open, and once you see your first meat markdown sticker you will always be on the hunt for them. I do not find them every week, but every once in a while I do spot a meat markdown at Aldi.

Have you found any great meat markdowns at Aldi lately?

  1. Nice find! I found some ribs marked $5 off the other day. I got a pack of spare and a pack of baby back. My husband didnt think it was that great of a deal, but i wanted some! I can't wait to cook them. The last time I found really good deals was the day after Thanksgiving after they had been closed, so I'm thinking maybe the day after Easter will be a good day too!

  2. I too found the stickers/mark downs the day BEFORE a holiday ... chicken with $2 off, making it about $1.49 per lb for b/s chicken breast. Very compatiable at that price!

  3. About 3.5 years ago, when we were expecting our first child, I had what I believe was the ultimate Aldi shopping experience. I was doing my normal shopping and headed to the hamburger section. Now, I usually bought the 5 lb packages and then split it up into 1 lb pkgs when I got home and used freezer bags to store each pound. Then I could use as little or as much as needed. The 5 lbs packages were selling for around $9. However, on this day, they had some of the markdown stickers because the hamburger was getting close to it's "sell by" date (note that it was NOT the "use by" date). So, all I would need to do is divide and freeze as normal and it would be fine. Well, the stickers said $2 off. What I did not realize was that each package had THREE stickers. So each $9 package was really $6 off, or $3 for 5 lbs of hamburger. That came out to $0.60 per lb!!! I bought 2 of the packages because that was all I had room to store. If I had a stand-alone freezer, I would have cleared them out!! But I have not seen a deal like that since.

  4. Anonymous that certainly is a fantastic shopping trip! I know you were wishing for that stand-a-lone freezer at that time:)

I have a small freezer under my fridge as well, and I sure have wished for a stand-a-lone freezer on many occasions, but we have no room at all. we do not even have room for a dish washer. When we move it is definitely on my wish list.

Thank you for sharing your Aldi deal with us, it certainly proves that picking up a good deal on meat is more than possible....even if it can be extremely rare to find it.
